A Catalogue Of Unspeakable Fiendishness
It’s a panto baddie!
When asked earlier in the year to come up with a handful of songs “in popular styles” for a primary school production of Snow White, this was one of the things I composed. The wicked step-mother of our heroine who cannot really bare the thought of someone being more lovely than she, employs some boffins to invent ways of getting rid of her. This litany of rather ingenious cruelty is outlined in this song, to be sung jointly by the Step-Queen herself and the poor old boffins who I imagine to be only concerned with their own cleverness rather than the potentially tragic human consequences of their work.
