As April begins we are all in isolation and who knows when we’ll be able to meet up again for music-making and the like. I am attempting to keep up the spirits of my choir with daily messages and musical projects, and hopefully I’ll compose something too!!!
A month starting with optimism for some new music and performances to come, but at last in 2020 some time to do something about marketing again. Let’s see how much I can bound!
Fen=bruary starts with me just having completed the melody and lyrics for my new song Billfinch Morning. It will be premiered on 19th, so I must start the month by completing the arrangement for band and choir, and finish it having hopefully engineered an excellent performance!
January 2020 start with a leap and ends with Robert Burns – this is fixed already. For the in between bits, stay tuned!
An update on composing and performing news each day as usual, but this time accompanied by one of my festive songs or arrangements.
After a one-day session at the Hepworth at the beginning of November I have no more concerts or workshops during November so I’m hoping to consolidate all my new video catalogue marketing and maybe compose a couple of new things floating around in my head.
October starts with choir touring. There may be no more touring in October, but it’s a good heading!
After a lot of pondering on approaches to take, I’ve plumped for “Twelve Of the Best” I shall produce video catalgues under particular heading. I did a trial one at the end of August using lullabies, and I shall continue to make more during September. There’ll be other news too, I’m sure!
A lullaby composed for The Bridge Singers (SATB choir) of Felton and Thirston in Northumberland. It is inspired by the stature of Elizabeth Dacre Howard at Lanercost Priory in Cumbria, who died in 1883 at the age of four months.
I’m resuming my blog now that ideas, inspiration and motivation have returned. Let’s see if I can keep it up!
