The Bridge Singers’ First Recital

The Bridge Singers’ inaugural recital, including every bit of repertoire we currently know, was a sell-out at Felton Village Hall on December 7th! We sang lots of Christmas things, of course, including the world premiere of Cheryl’s Chantry Chapel Carol, but also presented a proper mixture of folk music, barbershop, Dowland songs, excerpts from The Messiah and some short Medieval song bursts. Another of Cheryl’s pieces (Banana Fanfare 2) featured in our “summer selection” as well as her arrangements of “How Beautiful Are The Feet” and Dowland’s “His Golden Locks”. One reaction to our first term and recital from Alison, “I was just happy from beginning to end about the whole thing – every aspect of it. The hall looked so special, and the wine and goodies spot on. Both the programme and the programmes were splendid. It felt great to be part of the singing group – it all felt very genuine – everyone doing their best and no one shrinking back. I was staggered by the progress made, particularly as a corporate whole.”
