Gary Steward’s Northumberland

As well as composing my own music, I do like to create arrangements of other people’s for specific purposes. I was asked by singer/songwriter Gary Steward to make an arrangement of his beautiful song “Northumberland” for 4-part choir. I ended up making two versions, one for SATB and one for TTBB. It makes use of some atmospheric blowing and whistling sounds at the beginning and end of the song to illustrate the words – they just about come across in this recording by Lionheart Harmony.
