The Bridge Singers

A brand new choir has started in Felton and West Thirston and Cheryl is its Musical Director. There are about 30 members and so far we’re enjoying learning music in a variety of styles including some extracts from Handel’s Messiah, folk music, a selection of Dowland songs, and some Christmas items for our first recital in December. The choir also seems to like singing Cheryl’s pieces and arrangements which is a happy circumstance! After a few weeks of getting to know each other merrily in our cosy rehearsal space in Gallery 45, we have this week decided, after much discussion, banter and voting, that we will be called The Bridge Singers, after the historic bridge that links the two villages together.
