A new song (Bullfinch Morning) at the beginning of 2020 song was inspired by my feelings of distress and unease at various news stories. I always do try to look on the bright side of things, so found some hope in the continuing rising of the sun (often very spectacularly), or the sight of a rare bird on your morning walk, particularly the bullfinches. It was composed for the Feb 2020 concert by the Coquet Wind Band. The band and the choir seemed to like the song and I had good feedback from people in the audience. We were going to perform it again in July with piano accompaniment, but not possible as yet, alas!
