Ladies of Longframlington

I was approached in December by one of the organisers of the Longframlington Music Festival if I would rehearse and conduct the Sing Out Choir which usually forms for  a couple of months prior to the competitions in June and then performs at the winners’ recital on the last evening of the festival. I did this and the 14 ladies who came along and I tackled some folksongs I’d arranged from New Zealand (including a couple in Maori), a couple of ABBA numbers, and a couple of WW2 songs. We had lots of fun and sang with spirit and tunefulness.

Is this singing group still going? I am moving from North London to Longframlington and seeking a group to join. I am a mezzo soprano and currently enjoy singing with Rock Choir.

Hi Sue, I believe it was a choir that only existed during the music festival in the village, and the music festival doesn’t happen any more. There are plenty of choirs around the region though. If you contact Jane Harland, she has a really handle on all the local North east choirs. janeharlandmusic@gmail.com
      Best of luck, Cheryl x
