It is my intention during 2015 to do something creative each day. As I am principally concerned in my work with music and sound, this will feature in the snippets or fade-ins that I share with you on this blog.
I have brought together two creative endeavours 365 photos of 2014’s sunrises and my Marimba Concerto “In The Teeth Of It” as a New Year’s Eve task today in this video. I have loved 2014. I hope 2015’s just as creative, cheerful and productive for us and for you.
I’ve returned to the classroom for the last few weeks and have composed new music for youngsters on the themes of Ancient Egypt and World War 2!
“Newcastle View” is a series of 12 photographs by Bradley Photography shown consecutively as a slide show with original music by Cheryl Camm, composed in response to and inspired by the pictures.
It’s a single-line song for children about the some of the wildlife we see in Northumberland and the road signs that protect them, with piano accompaniment and optional vocal harmony and descant parts.
Autumn Sea is a song in up to seven parts for choir and piano and is inspired by the North Sea at Warkworth Beach in Northumberland. It has been performed by adult and children’s choirs in the past. Here’s its story!
